Week 56: Did My Comp Drink Beer?!!

This week was crazy!!! First of all my new companion drank beer, we saw a ton of people, and we found quite a few new potential investigators, and I'm back in the country. Overall it was solid, and
I'm so excited to tell you about it.

So I am in a tiny town named Sealy. There are like 4000 people here. I think our president enjoys exiling me out to the country haha!!! My new companion is named Elder Guzman, and he is originally from Guatamala, so what I'm saying is, is he is not a gringo! Basically he is a walking Spanish dictionary! It's a blessing! We came in together from the Provo MTC so we've been great friends throughout the mission and things have only gotten better, well sort of . . . Let me explain!! So our first day we were together we went to go see one of the families we are teaching! They have 10 kids! Talk about future baptisms! So we knock on the door and their 12 year old son opens up and yells, Mom the stupid elders are here! So we go in and the kids are all playing Modern Warfare, the dad is drunk with his pistol on his lap and the mom bashing on Mormons. So the plan was to teach the word of wisdom. And we did! But it's sad because I'm out of time so I can't tell you about my companion how he drank the beer. Next time! But I love y'all so much! Have a great week!

Week 55: Here We Go Again!!

Well transfers are here again and all I know is I'm leaving the lands
of the woods! Actually Elder Barrus and I both are! Yep didn't see
that one comin! I was getting Elder Barrus prepared on taking over the
area, then when we got the call, it said we were both out, I was
literally stuttering! But it will be good! They needed to shut down an
area of Elders! So we are both bouncin somewhere else! But the final week in the Woodlands was great. We taught an outstanding lesson with a new investigator named Michael Perez. He understood so well, and the spirit was so strong! We are hoping to see him progress! It should be good! We did a lot of finding and found a lot of willing people who had open hearts ready for the gospel! I'm sorry that this letter is short, but I just want y'all to know that I
love serving the Lord! There are so many blessings that we receive each and everyday! I'm grateful for the opportunity to help so many people in there lives find more happiness! I love y'all! Have a great week!

Week 54: Hey Are You Guatemalan?

Hey y'all this week was great! We worked really hard. Let me tell y'all, that is so much fun being a missionary. So many blessings each and everyday. This week we went finding so much, it was really great! It was really weird though because we met so many people from Guatemala, like, usually that's not weird, but it was like literally every single person we talked to! The Guatemalans also have a
different dialect and they call it their own language and I've been trying to pick it up! They are all like, how do you know my language, I'm just like, gift of tongues! It works! So it's been real fun! So funny story while we were contacting, I started talking to this girl and she was like, I've already talked to you, I was like where? She said in my apartment complex. Well we had just finished knocking that whole place so I was lost. Well, so I asked her what church she is going to and she responded, the right one!!! I was like oh no, she
must be a JW. She then said, you know I'm apart of your church right!!! I was like ohhh no, I do remember you!! It's funny because a week back I did the exact same thing to her! She was messing with me two times in a row! She is less active, but she won't be soon! Gods trying to tell us something haha! Also one of the ways we have been talking to people is we just drive around and if we see some people outside we drive up, get out of our car and talk to em! So great!! We got out one time and I asked a guy do you need help with anything? He said, well you could help me drink my beer haha! He had a buddy though
who wasn't as borracho and he seemed pretty interested! Entonces hay
bendiciones no! Contacting Works😂! We also went to H3 for Elder Barrus' recent converts baptism! It was a great moment for everyone! Elder Barrus had a huge smile on his face. I also got to see some of my favorite families from my baby area! I also got to see Elder Fitt, such good times!!! It's fun because he's in my baby area and I'm in his, so we just talked it up about old people we taught! Good times, good times! I hope all of y'all had a great 4th of July, keep working hard! Keep trusting in Heavenly Father! Keep following your Savior! Keep following the spirit! I love y'all!

Week 53: One Year Down! One To Go!

Hey family and friends. This week was really good! I don't have too much time but I will give you the overview. I got the chance to go on an exchange with Elder Olivera and he taught me a lot. We talked a lot about how to help build the ward and we were able to implement a lot of those ideas in our meeting yesterday! It was so sweet! We had zone meeting as well. It was awesome, we learned a lot about how to sift out the prepared and the not in the first 5 minutes of a lesson. We also celebrated our year mark and got to blow out the candle on our donuts. I also burnt a shirt! It was sick! We also set a date with
Irma and Yaderi Deras for the 30th of July. We are super excited for them. Yaderi came to church yesterday. She is 17 and she is super solid. She is a blessing. She got a ride from a member to church, and loved it! Blessings!!! We also had a BBQ today out in our apt complex and had a water balloon fight! Tons of fun! Well have a great 4th of July friends and family. I'll see ya on the next one!!!
